2021年計畫發射12顆衛星，實現國產物聯網衛星星座雷射通訊零突破

從中國航太科工集團獲悉，雲端計畫目前已啟動第一階段建設。 計畫2021年發射12顆衛星。 屆時，天基物聯網的全球服務能力將顯著增強。 航太三江航太星雲科技有限公司 負責建造和營運分三期，計畫在2023年左右建造由80顆LEO通訊衛星組成的星座。 雲端工程可以有效解決地面蜂窩通訊網路覆蓋不足造成的通訊盲區問題（目前陸地覆蓋約20%，海洋覆蓋不足5%）。建鏈流程完整、遙測狀態穩定的一路通信，這意味著行雲二號衛星搭載的雷射通訊載荷技術已成功驗證，中國衛星物聯網星座已實現星間雷射零通訊突破。
星間雷射通訊是一種利用雷射光束作為載體在空間傳輸影像、語音、訊號等資訊的通訊方式。 具有傳輸速率高、抗干擾能力強、系統終端體積小、重量輕、功耗低等優點。 它可以大幅減少衛星星座系統對地面網路的依賴，從而減少地面關卡站的數量和成本，擴大覆蓋範圍，並實現全球測控。 據悉，行雲二號衛星01、02號雷射通訊負載質量為6.5kg，在軌功耗為80W。
目前，星間雷射鏈路技術已成為全球衛星通訊系統發展的關鍵技術。 公開資料顯示，全球中低軌星座計畫中，只有美國的Starlink星座和LEOSAT星座提出了利用星間雷射鏈路實現空間組網的計畫。 在國內，星雲公司研發出國內最小的星間雷射通訊負載，實現了國內衛星物聯網星座零雷射通訊的突破，打通了衛星物聯網星座間資訊傳輸的瓶頸。
