Daenerys Targaryen has strength, resolve and, oh yes, dragons. It's hard to match the firepower of Emilia Clarke's regal Game of Thrones character, but fans of the hit HBO drama can own symbols of it with DragonStorm, a 26-piecesterling silver jewelry collection from Emmy-winning costume designer Michele Clapton.Inspiration for the new collection, available online at Mey Designs, came from a silver dragon necklace Dany wore in Season 5 when her dragon rescued her during an attack at a fighting pit."Dany was in the fight pits - where she didn't want to be - so I put her in this column dress of almost white with a silver necklace, which visually removed her from the dirt and the fighting. And then she has to flee and I wanted ... the wings (on the necklace) to come off so she'd be left with less of a dragon," Thrones costume designer Clapton said Wednesday at a Thrones interactive exhibit at Comic-Con in San Diego.Clapton designed two more-abstract pieces worn by characters at the end of Season 6 that also influenced the collection, which is a collaborative effort with jewelry designers Yunus Ascott and Eliza Higginbottom of Yunus & Eliza.Pieces include the Daenerys Drogon Neck Sculpture ($2,730), dragon spine-inspired Stackable Armor Rings (starting at $95) and the Dragon Storm Hand Wrap ($650), a soft leather wrap with a three-headed dragon ring featured in last month's Season 6 finale.Clapton, who has won two Emmys for her work on the HBO phenomenon, is nominated again this year for a recent episode featuring Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) in a black, military-looking outfit that has drawn much attention and praise.Asked for a hint of costume designs for upcoming Season 7, Clapton not surprisingly avoided revealing any spoilers from the closely guarded Thrones plot."No, I can't," she said, jokingly adding: "Or they'll sack me.
